Kate Jennings has worked in international education in a variety of capacities at 5 different institutions in 3 provinces across Canada over the past 22 years. Most recently, in 2015, Kate joined Vancouver Island University as Director International Student Services in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. The 4 units reporting to Kate include: international admissions & registration, homestay and off-campus housing, international financial services, and the advising, immigration and clinical counselling team for international students. In addition to her professional role at VIU, Kate is Network Leader for the International Education Leaders Knowledge Community (IEL KC) of NAFSA and is a member of the BC Ministry of Education Working Group for the Global and Intercultural Skills (GIS) Pilot Program. Kate has published and presented on a variety of international education topics, including invited presentations and workshops for NAFSA, CBIE and BCCIE, as well as accepted workshops and presentations at the annual events of AIEC, BCCIE, CBIE, EAIE, and NAFSA.
