BCCIE Summer Conference provides an essential platform for the growth of BC’s International Education sector. BCCIE’s annual conference brings together more than 400 participants from our province, across Canada and beyond our borders. The conference attracts senior leaders, researchers, practitioners, student service providers, administrators, government, NGOs, and students to explore these ideas with the aim of strengthening our work and taking steps towards advancing outstanding leadership in the fields of International Education in BC.

As international student numbers grow in Canada, focus grows on student experience: the recruitment cycle, leading to arrival on campus, and into academic performance and retention. This successful student experience is key for educational institutions, both international teams and their internal stakeholders. It is also key for the visible external recruitment agencies with whom these institutions work as both groups act as advocates for student outcomes. On issues of transparency, accountability, and overall responsibility, the presenters will share industry best-practices on direct relationships between school and recruiter, including on documentation, relationship ownership and assessment, and serving students and their families with effective problem resolution.
