Emerging Narratives: What Do the Definitions and Data Tell Us? [Intercultural/Indigenous Stream]

Our collective narrative has increasingly included the idea of intercultural learning as a promising way to bridge both international and domestic diversity on our campuses, perhaps a way to continue our work and respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. What does a critique of this narrative and its definitions reveal? When we look at institutional and national data, what other narratives emerge? In this session Kyra will share a variety of quantitative and qualitative findings and invite participants to consider how a data driven approach may be useful in guiding intentional, theoretically grounded approaches to intercultural learning that move us beyond performances and potlucks.
