BCCIE Summer Conference provides an essential platform for the growth of BC’s International Education sector. BCCIE’s annual conference brings together more than 400 participants from our province, across Canada and beyond our borders. The conference attracts senior leaders, researchers, practitioners, student service providers, administrators, government, NGOs, and students to explore these ideas with the aim of strengthening our work and taking steps towards advancing outstanding leadership in the fields of International Education in BC.

Thought leader dialogue I: Advancing Diversity and Inclusion in International Education: A Perspective

Drawing on her professional and diplomatic experience, and her academic work, the speaker will place practical examples within a larger framework of striving to realize values within policymaking. The speaker will explore different conceptions of advancing diversity and inclusion in international education from expanding the types of students involved to widening the range of professionals in our field. She will note efforts to engage minority serving institutions and tribal colleges. She also will provide information about publications and resources on these topics.
